Turquoise carries a protective energy, strong yet soothing bringing wisdom to it's holder and dissolving fear. Assisting in balancing the Throat Chakra, it helps communication and self expression, opening us up creatively. Whilst protecting it's holder, Turquoise helps connect us to our true selves, aiding the Heart Chakra's energy to radiate, allowing one to give and receive love unconditionally. Empowering both men and women equally, this gentle stone is known as a talisman of luck and success. A wonderful overall healing stone and travel companion, connecting us with the divine.

the history... Turquoise is perhaps one of the world's most ancient stones, sacred to many civilisations and cultures for 1000's of years among the Native Americans, Persians, Aztecs and Incas, Ancient Egypt and The Orient. Many have honoured Turquoise as the Universal stone, recognised as a symbol of power and protection, wisdom and immortality. It is believed their minds would become one with the universe when wearing it.

Due to it's ability to change colour it has been used in prophesy and divining. For 100's of years Native Americans have mined and dressed Turquoise, using it to protect their burial sites and during ceremonies when calling upon the Great Spirit of the Sky signifying the God of the Sky is alive in the Earth. The mosaic masks, shields and skulls devoted to the Aztec Gods were all also studded with Turquoise, as was the death mask of Tutankhamun.

Believed to be stone of friendship, it was once said "He, or she, who owns a Turquoise will never want for a friend." In the Orient, a Turquoise ring was worn as protection from evil. The proverb states: “Given by a loving hand it brings with it happiness and good fortune.” However, it was said the rings would only emit positive energy if the stone was given by a friend. Traditionally Turquoise is received as a gift to pass on it's natural fortune-bringing powers, so if you buy your own, give it as a gift to yourself ♡
