Chakra Healing :: Solar Plexus

Solar Plexus Chakra :: Manipura How in balance are you?

Located below our rib cage and just above our naval, this energy point is the core of our personality, radiating vital life energy throughout our body. The centre of our will power and self esteem, our “gut feeling” and intuition.

Overactive Manipura:

If our solar plexus is overactive we may feel easy to anger and quick to judge ourselves and others. Feeling intolerant, a need for control and excessive competitiveness. We may also find we are over indulging or over eating.

Under active Manipura:

If our solar plexus is under active this can cause heavy emotional struggles, the feelings of insecurity, anxiety and fear. We may find ourselves with the inability to focus and keep organised. Lacking in confidence and self worth, worrying how we are perceived and thought of by others.

Balanced Manipura:

A balanced solar plexus chakra will radiate energies of joy throughout our body and onto others that come across us. We have control over our thoughts and emotions. A great sense of self love and appreciation for all around us. Clarity and confidence, knowing the freedom of choice, steering life in the direction we choose.

Feeling Unbalanced?

Here’s some ways to help balance your Manipura:

  • Meditation - close your eyes and place your hands over your solar plexus, start to imagine a ball of yellow light, breathe, with every breath imagine a beam of light directly entering your energy point, making the yellow ball of light glow even brighter. Start to imagine the light radiating around your body, warming every cell, every muscle, from the tips of your fingers to the tips of your toes. Taking deep breaths, feel the energy glowing and growing.

  • Yoga - specific yoga poses to help open and align the solar plexus:

Paripurna Navasana, Boat pose

Ardha Matsyendrasana, Half lord of the fishes pose

Dhanurasana, Bow pose

Urdhva Prasarita Padasana, Upward extended feet pose

  • Music - music brings people together, it can also help us bring ourselves back to balance. Repeating mantras and chanting the corresponding sound to each chakra (in this case RAM) creates vibrations in our bodies, these vibrations help our cells work together in harmony.

  • Nutrition - Our digestive system is closely linked to our solar plexus chakra. Eating well and listening to our bodies will also help create a happy balance.

Manipura foods: tumeric, ginger, camomile, bananas, sunflower seeds.

  • Crystals - Using healing crystals and colours can also help us recharge:

Malachite, Jasper, Tiger’s Eye, Citrine, Yellow Tourmaline, Amber, Lemon Quartz.

If you feel your solar plexus chakra is unbalanced and would like us to create a specific piece of jewellery using these stones we would be more than happy to make something specially for you to match your intentions!
